Bank Islam has made it’s mission to further propagate the knowledge of Islamic banking and financial system to members of the public as well as various educational institutions. As the pioneer and source of Shariah guidance, the Bank has been active in engaging with various local and international organisations in an advisory capacity.

-    ILMU Knowledge Series
Organised annually since 2016, the programme provides opportunities for the students and lecturers at higher learning institutions to gain practical knowledge of Islamic banking and finance from the actual practitioners. In 2019, about 800 students from various universities participated in the programme. 

-    Jelajah Kewangan Sosial Islam 
Organised in collaboration with Pusat Pungutan Zakat MAIWP, Pusat Wakaf MAIWP and Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (Religious Department of Federal Territory), the programme promotes public awareness and knowledge on matters and topics related to Zakat, Waqf and Sadaqa. In 2019, the programme was conducted during Friday prayers at 13 mosques within Kuala Lumpur, and were attended by a total of about 17,000 visitors. 

-    Kembara Muamalah
This awareness and educational programme on the fundamentals of Islamic banking is designed to reach out to members of the public and local communities within venues such as mosques, corporate offices and government agencies. In 2019, the programme was conducted in the state of Sabah from 11 to 13 July, covering 12 mosques, six offices and a university, with about 300 participants.

-    Islamic Banking and Social Finance Masterclass
The programme is meant to inspire the public to gain related knowledge and further propagate the subjects through influencers. In 2019, more than 70 participants attended the seminar.

BIMB Securities continues to promote the viability of Islamic stockbroking and securities services through various engagements with institutional and retail clients.
BIMB Securities has also taken in eight interns from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Malaya and Sunway University. The interns are expected to gain and share their knowledge on stockbroking dealings based on Shariah rules and principles.
